What level of pick do you need for Desert Fossil?

EDIT: Look, I'm not a total noob. I have like 400+ hours in this game, (Last time I checked) and I know you put it in the extractor. I was just asking what level of pick you need.

you need a nightshade / blood pickaxe or higher (the eater of worlds or the brain of chithulu)

you dig themup then put them in the extractor like silt and slush to get either gems coins or fossils used to craft armor or weapons

Yea, then you can feed it to the extractinator and maybe get a better version of the fossil that oyu can craft into stuff. I used the javelins vs the dungeon skeleton boss.

Oddly you can't just blow it up with bombs.

its immune to bombs so you cant farm them early on without the pickaxe
just like breaking the altars pre wall of flesh world
