This was my base (well, more like Hotel):

There is room for every NPC, enough chests for your stuff and enough space for your crafting stations. I know it doesn't look the best, i still tried it ^^ I also tried to put as much details in it as possible.

Those pictures are sadly a bit old. I didn't had every NPC and those mannequins didn't wear armor. I will rebuild that Hotel in Update 1.3 and change some things like different walls and other stuff to make it more interesting. But i guess you have an idea now.

I hope i helped, feel free to rebuild it! :-)

Looks good! But i would add foliage to it, otherwise it looks a bit weird ^^ Like a normal tree.

What do you think about my hotel that i posted above you ? Do you have something to say what i could do better ? I mean i have a lot of ideas what i will change when i rebuild it in 1.3 but still ^^

One trick you can do to keep your roof from being dark, is when you are blocking it out, place gemspark walls behind the blocks. This will backlight it so your roof doesnt get immersed in shadow.

Additionally the armor room on the bottom floor is a nice touch. However if you made the room taller you would be able to put your boss trophy's above them.

The traveling merchant can also sell different dishes and cups for more variety, and I often paint objects to keep them being repetitive. He also sells the tiger skins, so if you get some of the animal trophys or fish weapons/tools that can go on the wall placquard you can make a hunters trophy room. And place old muskets up on the wall.

Thank you!

My idea for the roof was actually to build a way in and then build a beginning of a rollercoaster there. You know like in theme parks where the starting area of a rollercoaster is ? Something like that. Well it was just an idea ^^ If i will not do it then i will do what you said.

That's a pretty cool idea. I will build it taller!

I was also thinking to build my house in a snow biome, then put snow on my house and icicle hanging down from the terrace. I also need a chimney. Then i will change some walls to make it look more interesting, so still wood but not everywhere. Maybe i will also build a bathroom. Some fences and lanterns left and right of the house.
