Why doesn't minecraft have Terraria quality updates?
Honest question here. Really wondering why Mojang, with all their wealth, can't make updates beyond a couple new blocks, a bunny, and new skeleton animations.

Re-Logic is a much smaller team with less money and they make amazing and huge content updates l ike 1.2 and 1.3

You might have to aim your question towards the new owners. Doubt you'll find an answer to that on a forum dedicated to Terraria.

The question still applies to before the purchase. And at this point it makes even less sense with Microsoft backing them updates should be huge.

Because Re-Logic cares about their game.

I thought microsoft bought Mojang and it's games from Notch?

Edit: Thought so.

On September 15, 2014, Microsoft announced its acquisition of Mojang for a sum of $2.5 billion.

You don't compare baking a pizza(delicious), to carving a fruit boquet(fancy) But anyway, Minecraft is in 3d, and generally requires a wee bit more work that 2d. Not to mention the fact, that all Microsoft wants to do is make one world, all platforms. But the next update certainly seems worthy.

It was because it was a diamond in the rough, Minecraft wasnt that popular at release but exploded after youtube let's plays, plus it is more difficult to make a 2D-Scroller than a 3D random generation Sandbox game. It was more focussed on construction and survival than terraria, which is survival, less construction, and more fighting.

3D is no excuse with minecraft, the textures are extremely simple and easy to make. Just look at mods made by 1-5 people teams that have more content than minecraft itself.

why do u have minecraft in the terraria hub?

Because MoJang went multi-platform. Haven't you noticed the slow & s*it updates started around the time it was released on the Xbox 360?

Microsoft owns them now so it's only going to get worse. For what it's worth, at least Re-Logic didn't sell out completely yet or port the game themselves, just outsourced it.

Textures isnt everything, you have to remember that all it is, is a picture. The mechanics of a 3D game is more difficult than making a 2D game.

By what accounts?

FYI there are also a lot more people working on Minecraft. Terraria has what, seven people?

IF you ever try making a game, it takes tons of work, even recreating pong is difficult. When you jump into 3D, you have to remember that you have to fix the jumping, the code, how much damage something does, where mobs will spawn, etc. Thats just game creation in general, but then you have the fact that you need to make sure tons of things correct and a bunch of stuff aswell. Plus walkspeed, mining, and tons and tons of stuff. If you dont know how difficult just making a game in general is, look up some tutorials if you want to see for yourself.
