Will the 1.4.5 be the final update?
Is there any info or something?

No info. Presumably the devs do want to make a new game afterwards, but the consensus seems to be that they will continue with smaller updates here and there afterwards.

“X update is the last one!” Is kinda a meme, so you never really know lol.

there have been so many "last updates" that i genuinely wouldn't be surprised to see a 1.5 announcement in the future

hopefully the game will live on for many many years with many updates. It brings moeny to the devs and people enjoy it all the way, so why stop?

That’s why they continued updating. Can’t remember if it was the 1.4 update or the labor of love update, but Redigit said they were selling 300,000 copies a month since one of those updates dropped lol.

If they ever make another major update, they better add DLC on top of it

This game doesn't need DLCs. The thing exactly is the fact that all the content is just added with new updates. This is a very good way to release new content. Very customer friendly way. Unlike with other big projects which utilize DLC scheme or any other scheme to empty our pockets as hard as they can.

okay hear me out, this idea relying solely on the goodwill of player base

what if, every time major content drop ex 1.5 1.6 1.7 and so on, they add DLC that cost as much as the base game that contain only exclusive vanity set that can only be equiped by DLC owner and text file which filled with some basic "thank you for supporting us bla bla bla"

redigit got his money and the community got their feel good moment for supporting small indie company

everybody win!

That's not a totally bad idea. But yes, just buy some merch. It's better if you just want to support them.

But if they gonna announce some crowdfunding in order to gather some money to make new major update - I will be interested to participate.

sure you can do that, but not everyone have million of dollar to spare for shipping fee. so those little DLC package is a cheap alternative way to support them

when i say cheap, i mean it, its cheaper for me to buy terraria 4 pack twice than went to their store and buy a King Slime pin

DLC cosmetics isn’t going to happen, since they’ve set the precedent that all content is free. I also doubt they have any interest in doing such a thing to begin with, as the game already has and continues to sell very well.

If it is, it's like the 6th final update for the game.
