I don't know of any in-game option to change system; perhaps a mod can do it.
Alternatively, you could simply use the values as points of reference. Moving at "50" means you're going 25% than moving at "40", no matter that the unit is supposed to represent. That's the way I've been doing it.
If you want to know the actual speed, well, the conversion is fortunately not that complex; multiply by 1.6, or divide by 5 and multiply by 8. 10 becomes 16, 50 becomes 80, etc.
yeah i know the conversion, but i wanted a easy ad hoc way. Else that mph feels just gimmicky and not that fun sadly ...
Yes, that's what I suggested in my first post here. As long as you know that 50 is twice the value of 25, what does it matter what the units are called?
Still, Terraria *is* being compared to real life. It doesn't have its own measurement system (it would be funny if people in Terraria measured everything in Tiles or speed in Zombies or something) and is using miles per hour.
A Stater might have an immediate idea of what speed a character going at 50 miles per hour is going, but the vast majority of people have to convert to kilometers first.
@Tripoteur i think we agree here lol
But seriously, I don't think it should really matter, since it's not like this game has a realistic sense of scale.
