How long does it take for NPCs to move?
My girlfriend and I waited two in-game days right next to the ocean farming Solar Eclipses and our Witch Doctor NPC STILL hasn't moved into his allocated jungle home. :/

I'm getting pretty impatient. He's in a centrally-located apartment complex with the rest of our NPCs, and his jungle housing is suitable AND has his little banner in it. Seriously, how long can I expect this to take?

The Witch doctor only comes if you have killed Queen Bee, Queen bee is a boss that spawns in a bee hive, which is found in the underground jungle. The hives are yellow and filled with honey so it should be easy to spot. To spawn Queen bee, the hive needs to have a larvea, which would spawn Queen bee when hit. Once you have killed Queen Bee, the Witch doctor should come during daytime not long after killing Queen Bee.

Read the full question... ANYWAYS answering your question expect it to take a couple more ingame terraria days or You could just go deep underground and then come back up and he should move

We've gone to Hell and all the way East and he still hasn't moved. It's been three days now. The guy literally has no home, he's just been bumming around with the nurse. I don't know why he won't move.

Try getting him killed and then setting his home to jungle he should respawn there

He cannot move in if you are either: in presence of the house he is supposed to move into, or in the presence of the NPC you want to move.

During night all NPCs will teleport to their banners when these are fulfilled.

The easiest way to force NPCs to move is to wait until night, allocate houses via the housing interface and then make sure all players are a good distance from them (them being the NPC+the allocated house, but just moving away from the entire complex will do just fine) - typically a little bit further than off screen/minimap is enough, and then return (or just quickly check the full screen map) and they should have teleported to their allocated houses. Someone having the full screen map open may also prevent the teleportation to allocated houses until it's closed and there may be a longer delay in multiplayer compared to single player as it has to check that every player is out of range of the NPCs/houses.
This is generally easiest to do in single player as there's only one player and you can just check the main map to see if they've moved yet (they won't be in minimap range, if they are then you're too close still).

Note that if his currently allocated house is above his current location there's a decent chance that he simply get to his house until he's able to teleport there, though he will make an attempt to walk directly to it every night, likely walking back and forth near it or below it.
