looking for pumpkin moon event tips/advise

Hi there,

As the name of the title suggests. I am looking for tips, tricks and advise on how best to not just survey, but beat the pumpkin moon event. I am trying to get the summon drops out of it. Sadly though, the best I have done so far.. Is 60%.

My set up, an afk like farm, spear traps over a large pit, and spike ball droppers on either side (pit has ramps so they walk up and fall down). I have also made sure my bit is large enough for the trees.

In fact, the only thing that kills me is those dang pumpkin kings.

Weapon and armor suggestions would be awesome. I can try farming any boss up to golem so far.

Look for Builder's Workshop on curse.com. Go to Documents/My Games/Terraria/Worlds and place the .wld file in there. Take some items for the fight and reforge at the Goblin Tinkerer.

I wouldn't say it's cheating IMO.

Also, you can go to SteamApps/common/Terraria/TerrariaServer.exe and place an item in an empty chest. Type "save" while the item is in the chest, and take the item out. Then type in "exit-nosave". The item is now duplicated.

it's the best farm for pumpkin moons i have seen so far (and i have looked at a lot of them). Assuming you have the right gear, you will reach the final wave at around 10:30-11pm and make 40+ platinum per night in a normal world, around 15 platinum in expert.

the pumpkings are not a problem, you will be locked in with your slime which has damage priority over the pumpkings, and you regenerate faster than the slime deals damage.

the farming itself works afk, however you have to sell a lot of item drops to get to that money. the red wiring that goes right off the screenshot leads to a teleporter which teleports a merchant into the farm so you can sell your stuff while the fight is happening.

the blue wiring goes to any other teleporter, it will get you into the arena and activate all the spear traps at once via the bird statue.

Awesome! Thanks, i read something on the wiki that sounded like this, but the screen shot they gave just didn't really help. This, i can work with, gives me a lot more i can see, which'll help tons once i start to build.

if i understand the OP right, he does not yet have access to moonlord gear such as your Last Prism.

also, you run a Nebula Armor + Last Prism and you still die multiple times while your tier-3 regeneration buff is constantly active. And you still manage to call this an easy fight? seriously?

I was recording it and I hadnt set my recording settings up right, as it recorded at 1080@60fps so my fps tanked while recording. Probably didnt help that I wasnt really paying attention either as I was too busy laughing like a mad man firing ma lazor at the Tree's and Jack O's. I'll happily do another run and record it and pay 100% attention to show how easy it is. As far as I'm aware to do the Pumpkin Moon you have to have beaten the Moon Lord atleast once to be able to spawn the event, so he should atleast have a end-game weapon....

you only need to have beaten Plantera.

and personally, even though it's a managable fight, i still find it one of the hardest ones in the game together with the Frost Moon. simply because you can't really reliably dodge the Pumpking and Ice Queen.

Also, with a normal fight, you may or may not succeed and kill some Pumpkings in the final wave, but you will never get remotely close to an actual farm construction. It's just insane how you can stand there and entire armys of Pumpkings pop like a bunch of balloons when those spear traps come down.

Lol I did not know it could be done after Plantera was beaten always thought it was only do able after the Moon Lord, learn summin new everyday :). I have never bothered trying to set a farm up for the events, gets too boring in my opinion. Prefer the madness over efficiency.
