Terraria is much more laggy in multiplayer.
I never had this problem ever since I've done port forwarding. Is it because of patch 1.3?

Because I never had this game lag so much before.

EDIT: I also have assumptions that the steam server might be a bit slow as well

Nothing has chagned on 1.3 except that you don't have to port forward and can host from Steam. I'm quite sure it's the person that hosts. You need a good host for a server. By good host I mean at least 10 mbps net speed.

does that mean having 26mbps is good?

Could be my internet then. I'll try a differant net later and see how things will go

Btw, you need upload speed when hosting not to lag and download speed when playing on a server not to lag. So if you have like 1200 mbps upload and 5 download you might as well not host at all, it will lag. Tho you won't lag at all if you play on someone else's server.

It depends on where the hosting server is located. Same country/continent? If you are living in singapore you will probably have a hard time playing on american or european servers. I live in europe so i cant play on american, australian or asian servers due to high ping because the servers are just too far away..

Try australian servers. Its within reasonable distance to singapore. Havent played terraria mp so im not sure if theres a way to check server response time (ping), but anyting above 150-200 m/s will be unplayable..
