storm bow alright summons stars if you use holy arrows but mega shark meh.....
Ahh, OK. Sorry I thought you meant weapons to use with summoning gear, like for effectiveness as in DPs, (well pre moonlord).
How about the sword that rains down stars? I forget the name off hand and am too lazy to look because I am on my phone right now.
Doesn't the boulder staff do magic damage?
But anyway, to add something to the topic:
The staff of frost hydra, spider queen staff, and the other stationary summons can all be used in cojunction, and they don't eat any of your minion count. Some are defintiely decidedly better than others, but all five of them do contribute.
Dunno why you posted this topic then, because there are only a few summon weapons that are worth using at endgame and you have all of them (unless you maybe want to add Staff of the Frost Hydra to the mix). If you want your primary weapons to stick to the summoner "theme", too, then that's based on your personal opinion and there's no use asking other people about that either.
If you want an actually effective summoner loadout, though, then the best thing to go with is guns. Unlike most melee weapons, they don't deal piercing damage by default so they can hit things at the same time as your Stardust Dragon, and unlike magic weapons they don't eat through mana. Magic weapons are practically useless on a summoner because of your lack of mana management, unless it's something like a Golden Shower that you only use every once in a while. Unfortunately, there's only one endgame gun worth using (and I'll give you one guess which one it is; hint, its name starts with an S and ends with a G), so you'll generally want to throw in a few melee weapons as well, even though they can't hit enemies while your Stardust Dragon is attacking them.
My summoner's loadout is as follows:
Weapons:
Meowmere (main weapon for exploration)
Terrarian (main weapon for events)
SDMG (main weapon for bosses)
Golden Shower (used to douse bosses and difficult enemies every once in a while)
Lunar Portal Staff
Rainbow Crystal Staff
Staff of the Frost Hydra
Stardust Cell Staff
Stardust Dragon Staff
(I generally keep my Cell and Dragon staves in my bank and use a Money Trough to grab and use them when I log in. It's a great way to save inventory space.)
Accessories:
Since minions' stats are set when they're summoned, even if you switch out armor or accessories, I keep some summon accessories in my vanity slots that I switch in when I summon my minions and then switch back out afterward. So my accessories are as follows, with the left column being my vanity slots and the right one my regular accessory slots:
Hercules Beetle - Solar Wings
Summoner Emblem - Celestial Shell
Empty/Vanity - Celestial Stone
Empty/Vanity - Papyrus Scarab
Empty/Vanity - Necromantic Scroll
(Expert) Avenger Emblem - Worm Scarf
All menacing. I keep a Pygmy Necklace, Spore Sac, and Yoyo Bag around that I can switch out with the Worm Scarf or Celestial Stone depending on the situation.
