Any advice on mining Hellstone?

Recently got a demonite pickaxe, any advice on mining hellstone without deep-frying myself in lava?

get the obsidion potion so you can move in lava for some minutes without dying

Sand. Use sand to form a barrier between you and the lava. Obsidian Skull or its upgrades for immunty to the blocks. Obsidian Skin potions for lava immunity. Lava charm or its upgrades. There are loads of ways to avoid lava damage. Also, try not touching it. That's where the bulk of the damage comes from

Well, go very down for mine, it s safer (bats), and have a weapon it can shoot across block for kill who shoot fire ball like the death scythe (in solar eclipse, the black ghost, those can cross block), and make a hole below metal and you first then lava down in the hole and you can mine with no problem, some obsidien skin potion could be usefull too. and have an obsiden skull could be cool but it depend of what you do first obsidien or hellstone...
for the obsidien i dig verticaly and a lot a water come with me, and i stop at the first lava, and mine it with water, and continu to go down with the water until hell, in a big world you can do easily 999 in 30 - 45 min... but hellstone it s longer, a lot of preparing and monsters...

Two words:

Lava Waders.

Get some water walking boots (from water chests), then combine them with an obsidian skull into obsidian water walking boots. Then search the lower parts of the cavern layer for a lava charm and combine it with the boots to form the lava waders.
They will allow you to walk on the surface of any liquid, give you immunity to meteor and hellstone blocks and allow you to submerge in lava for up to 7 seconds before taking damage.
