Can you make marble biomes?

I was underground trying to get some obsidian when i place some marble to keep the water in the place where i wanted it to be around 13 blocks and then out of nowhere a hoplite spawns without a real marble biome appearing so can you make marble biomes because this would help me in finding a medusa head? After playing for a few more minutes a medusa spawned as well and the only marble biome near me is over 200 blocks above me

No thanks on the medusa head i actually enjoy the grind to get cool items but can people really make marble biomes because i have seen 2 more medusas and 4 more hoplites?

I just checked the wiki and it said yes to making marble biomes and the medusa head is a 1% drop on an enemy that rarely spawns.
