Best ways to farm gemstones?

Self explanitory, also is there an easy way to mine meteorite?
I have 360 health but A: my two meteorites are in stupid spots (one is in a curruption area and the other is in a safer place but the meteorheads are still annoying) and B: they keep appearing FAR to the right, making each trip to a meteor head after dying a pain in the butt!

Sticky Dynamite is your friend, with a few good throws they can wipe out an entire meteor in seconds
Also if you find an extractinator, you can throw some silt/slush/fossil into it and get all kinds of goodies (gems, coins, ore, ect)

how do I find an extractinator? I have 5 Diamonds and 5 Amathysts (will probably make a purple one) but I've been on many ventures and not found many more.

As for the sticky dynamite/bombs, is there some trick to throwing them? Almost every third time it ends up stuck at my feet....

The sticky explosives don't have much velocity so you have to get pretty damn close to the block you want to blow up, so just get about ~3 blocks away from the targeted block
As for the Extractinator you can find them in Underground Cabins either as a placed object or in the chest

To add to this, they're way more common in the underground desert, so you should check there first.

Wait underground dessert? You mean the Antlion Traps? (That giant hole in the dessert)
