Whats the best/fastest way to get the laser drill?

i been playing for some time know and the alien invade will not start ?
how can i speed this up?

You need to find an alien probe, let it detect you, and if it successfully escapes from you the alien invasion will begin around your spawn area.

The best place to find the probe is on the extreme west/east end of the map in the space area.

This can only occur after you have defeated the golemn.

Btw, if you're end game the laser drill isn't that good. The only good thing about it is the +10 reach, for general use any luminite pickaxe has a decent +4 reach and much faster mining speed. (Plus the pick has no annoying sound, and isn't too bad of a melee weapon either)
