I enjoy terraria more, but I still don't see why people are comparing them. Minecraft obviously has better building because you can't beat 3D. But minecraft lacks in the survival part. Terrraria has better survival by a long shot. Even though terraria builds are stronger than survival in minecraft, I still enjoy both games.

But seriously I'd say minecraft is more focused on creativity while terraria is focused on both challenge and creativity. Don't starve on the other hand is strictly challenge.
