Dev armor/sets?

On the wiki it says that dev sets are from hardmode bosses on expert mode, but I've heard you can get it just from treasure bags, even from non hardmode bosses. Which is true?

HM Bosses drop treasure bags in expert mode, and you have a 5% chance of getting a dev armor from these bags only (the said armor is vanity though)

Any bags from non-HM boss have no chance of dropping them.

Bags from bosses killed in Pre HM can't drop it bosses that you killed that are not HM related ( up to wall of flesh he's Pre HM boss ) in HM can drop it. So you can farm eye of cthulu for that sweet 70 damage yoyo

I'm getting two conflicting answers here, does the world have to be in hardmode (meaning eye of cachoochoo could drop it as long as the world was HM) or does it have to be a hardmode boss?

Either way, it'd probably be a good idea to both HM your world then farm a HM boss.

Just checking the wiki myself and having gone through expert mode three times, I can confirm that only hardmode bosses have bags that can drop Dev Sets. Have yet to have any prehardmode boss bags drop Dev Sets in hardmode.

It's not so bad, if you can manage to get yourself a Daedalus Bow, you can farm the Destroyer for days and get a Dev Set easy.

Are the seta boss specific or is it random?

Sets are 100% random, gotten Red's, Crowno's, and Skiph's Set off of a Destroyer.
