If i use smooth granite. not the stuff you harvest but the one you make from that stuff. Will it be a granite biome?

I'm pretty sure you can't create granite biomes, just like you can't create spider caves. I might be wrong.

ok so i tested this while waiting for answers. the answer is no. it will not create a biome. now i need to test it with marble both harvested and smooth and newly harvested granite. I do want to know these things lol.

A granite biome has Granite blocks (368) and as a background to spawn on Granite Walls (natural) (180).

What a player can place is Granite (368) but the walls differ as Granite Block Wall (181).

Smoothe Granite is 369, Smooth Wall 184 - both not found in natural biome, exept for the little houses maybe.

edit: same for marble.

Exactly, granite and marble mobs only spawn near Naturally generated stone.
