Underwater light source?

So I have this giant pool of water, which I generally use for fishing. But the problem I'm having is that the water's so dark that there are slimes constantly spawning and then going up after me! It breaks my focus and I can't fix it since torches immediately despawn... are there any lamps that can be underwater?

I think a cursed torch can be used underwater when you get it. You can also make holes for torches to be.

glow sticks are temporary not permanent as they will disappear when you exit that following world.

Either go for ichor torches or cursed flame torches depending on your world. Both can light underwater areas.
Dont use glowsticks since those are just temporary. If you want more elaborate stuff you can even create ichor campfires or cursed flame campfires :p

Keep in mind those are only aviable once you are in hardmode !

I know from experience that a chandelier or a ceiling lamp will still glow underwater, but they can only be placed dry. You can build an airhole, put one of them inside and then demolish it, with the exception of the block the chandelier/lantern hangs from. Floor lamps, however, will "break off" when submerged.
