Master Ninja Climbing gear issues...

I'm in end game and I think that the Master Ninja Climbing Gear is an exeptional item, because being able to dash is a great ability, but it's so annoying!
If I'm trying to fall down somewhere, I might cling to a wall and it's annoying, because at post-plantera, you'll surley have a grapple hook, or some other means of climbing up, do you guys think that there should be a "Master Ninja Gear" that's the same without the Tiger Climbing Gear? I'd honestly use this if it didn't have the "Climbing" part of it.
Instead I use Solar Armour, but I want to be able to charge without getting knockback from hitting enemies, that's also my issue with the Sheild of Cthulu, but being an early game item, I can excuse that.

Um... Solar Flare armor's dash doesn't knock you back. You can just charge straight through stuff.

In any case, just get a Rod of Discord. It can serve the same purpose of allowing you to get behind enemies without taking up an equipment slot.

Um... Solar Flare armor's dash doesn't knock you back. You can just charge straight through stuff.

In any case, just get a Rod of Discord. It can serve the same purpose of allowing you to get behind enemies without taking up an equipment slot.

Good idea, but 2 things, 1. The Rod of Discord is incredibly rare, and 2. It doesn't start my dash from my Frostspark Boots

If you don't want to farm for it, just trade for one from someone else. But it's not that hard to get anyway, a basic AFK farm can get one in under two hours.

And what are you even doing using Frostspark Boots post-Plantera anyway? If you want to get somewhere fast, use teleporters, minecarts, or any endgame mount. If you want mobility while fighting, just use wings.

As I said, the Rod of Discord is really rare, and farming it can take much longer than 2 hours, and if I'm speedrunning, I won't farm for it. Also, setting up teleporters is easy to do, but it's too time consuming for me, even if it is only 15 minutes and the tabi dash ability is still really useful mid combat, even against moonlord
It's just uncomfortable to move around without frostspark boots, aswell, at any time, I guess it's just a personal preference...

Ah, I didn't know you were doing a speedrun. If you ever have the time, though, you really should farm for the RoD, it's definitely worth it. One of my favorite items in the game and I've never removed it from my hotbar once since getting it.

If you can get a RoD, it can fulfill basically the same function, in fact it works better because it has a longer range and you can use it to get behind things without taking damage. If you can't get one then the Solar Flare set bonus is pretty much a direct upgrade to the Tabi. Though if you want the dash and you're going mage, ranger, or summoner then you're still stuck with the Ninja Gear.

I dunno, as soon as I can get wings I always replace my boots and never look back. Not that they're useless, but it just doesn't seem like it's worth a slot anymore once you've got wings. Besides, I'm pretty sure that even the slowest wings move faster horizontally during flight than Frostspark Boots do at top speed.

Ah, I didn't know you were doing a speedrun. If you ever have the time, though, you really should farm for the RoD, it's definitely worth it. One of my favorite items in the game and I've never removed it from my hotbar once since getting it.


I agree, on my main character, I've not removed it from the hotbar, because it's too useful, but reguardless of all the alternatives, it's still be better if there was an item like the Master Ninja Gear

Mm, I guess so, even though I'd personally never use it. But I suppose it'd be nice if they made the Black Belt and Tabi combine into their own item, and then you have to use that with the Tiger Climbing Gear to make the Master Ninja Gear. That way you could use the combined Black Belt and Tabi and not have to deal with the effects of the TCG.

Alternatively you could just use the Tabi by itself, I mean the Black Belt can be handy if you're lucky but it's not that big a deal to sacrifice it.

You just quote like normal and then delete all the unnecessary stuff from the quote. You can also copy and paste the "quote=username;####" and "/quote" tags to split it into multiple quotes.
