Anyway, if you're worried about arenas, setting up a "floor" of asphalt immediately over the Ocean and then a few Platform layers above that could work. I wouldn't know, because I had the bright idea to use a Portal Gun and make the asphalt extend straight from the beach to nearly the edge of the ocean. Ran through one portal, came out the other, and FISHRON HAD DESPAWNED. FUN, RIGHT? So far, that's the only Truffle Worm I've had since I picked up the game again, and it was wasted. So yeah, no thinking with portals in this fight.
Other than that, I don't know what to tell ya.
Thankyou for this! (And sorry about yer Truffle werm :3)
I'll make sure to tell GLaDOS that I won't be using portals for this fight! :)
Also if you insist on beeing mage / ranger just grab a veteran friend who can tank for you. Duoing any boss is indeed fun and good to train :D
as well as with beetle armor and a terra blade
that was a while back
now i would recommend you do the lunar events first
just the pillars you dont need to kill the moon lord
once you get through the solar pillar you can use the solar fragments to craft a daybreak which deals damage + additional damage over time
since fishron wont disappear or go through solid blocks, provided you fight him in the air, the spears stay
also
the nebular blaze and the spheres help
the spheres alot since you can summon them while he's straffing you then just lead him into them/stand still and the spheres do the rest
i summoned about 30 and as soon as he got into his second phase / stood still he died almost instantly
also helps to have minions (stardust cells or dragon)
as well as some potions such as swiftness potion, defense potions, and maybe the master ninja gear for dashing/chance of dodging attacks
If you don't have the possessed hatchet then any good damage homing weapon will do really (including any high dps gun with chlorophyte bullets) using the grav potion method, and aimed items work fine too when using infinite flight mounts, adjust armour as appropriate to fit your primary weapon choice and whether or not you're going full dps or partially tank gear. Accessories are up to you but some form of fall protection when using grav pots (or slime mount and landing on water - the buoyancy of it will keep you from falling into the water allowing you to quickly turn back around without slowing down due to the water) and some form of mobility item (if not using a mount like the UFO then either lightning/frostspark boots or better yet any high horizontal speed wings like frozen wings - wings also cover fall protection nicely as a bonus) are needed. Knockback immunity is ideal as well - ankh or paladin's for that at this point. Other accessories should generally be offensive, with the celestial shell/stone being top picks due to great offence and great regen/defence at the same time - celestial shell and fighting during the night is especially potent for a single accessory and even stacks fully with the celestial stone. %DR items can be useful if you're bad at dodging too, but it does mean sacrificing dps from emblems and the like if you choose to use them.
This works in expert mode as well, though not quite as effectively thanks to teleporting fishron in the 3rd phase. The biggest thing to keep in mind is to try and dodge by turning quickly every so often (grav potion literally flipping vertical motion works well when combined with moving left and right at a decent speed), don't try to just outrun it, it won't work. The UFO-mount is a less disorientating method, but as it's a bit slower it also relies more heavily on moving in circles or perpendicular to fishron and generally paying attention to where fishron is compared to you to avoid taking hits, thankfully the increased control makes that quite easy once you're used to the fight and fishron's damage isn't buffed nearly as much as most enemies are in expert mode either.
Don't forget to use potions - survival ones like regen, mobility ones like swiftness and dps ones like wrath/rage are all pretty handy to have active.
It's sad that a friggin FISH is harder than a lunatic cultist and a buncha aliens,I might try this :)
The way I did it was simple......skip him and go for the Cultist......erm....yeah :D
So I wanted to thank you all for your help! Thanks! :D
