Alternatively
Go spelunking and pick up every Life Crystal you see. You'll find quite a lot and if you have 400 hp and a Heart Lantern in your arena already (just needs a life crystal and chains for boosted health regen) then you can sell them. 10 or so life crystals gets you about 20 gold.

If someone actually needs 999 platinum and gets them the easy way it's a sure bet the game will end for them very soon. I played this game when it first came out and after 100+ hours of fun and grind, I found some easy ways to get all the gold, all the items I'll ever needed and became super OP but it just ended up killing the experience. Took me until recently to get back into this game.
