That being said though, one could get the Undertaker and reforge it to be up to the level of a Musket and I think then it'd be worthwhile. It's the same way I see the Flintlock pistol now that I think about it. It's like a Minishark with higher damage and far more potential with reforges and you can get it earlier than what the Minishark costs at 35 gold.
So for me it's a mix of feelings here. Overall, lore-wise and theme-wise I love the Corruption more and I'm pretty nostalgic for it since I started back in 2011 when there was just Corruption but I'd go Crimson simply for the options it has for me.
I've realized some weapons have far more potential and are slept on and it depends on what you like as a person. I don't think either of the biomes are superior to one another. Just that they appeal to a particular taste in a person and each has something to offer from their lore and vibes to their functionality.
Melee people? Yeah, they'll love the Shadow armour while someone who is a generalist or ranger will love the Crimson armour more. I do also like the aesthetics of the Crimson armour more too so there's that (pair it with the Crimson Cape and you got yourself a Crimson Overlord/Sympathizer get-up).
