Any way to make the toolbar disappear?

I was fighting Skeletron Prime and a Magic Mirror was in my 9th slot. I accidentally aimed a bit far, my mouse reaching the toolbar, and I accidentally teleported home, losing all of the progress of the fight (almost killed the boss). Is there any way to disable the toolbar on HUD so I will not accidentally lose boss fights like this again?

You can lock the hotbar to make it so you can't click on it. There should be a lock icon to the left of the first slot of it. Click it. You'll get an audio cue.
