i love visual armor effects
how can you not tell hes replying to the discussion post and not your comment?
honistly i dont really get what people are so annoyed about in 1.4 i get maybe npc happiness can be a bit annoying but most of the content is just avoidable or irelavent
empress of light can easily be avoided (like duke fisheron)
queen slime has an armor set but i dont think you really need it ether
block swap can be turned on and off
ruler is now no longer tied to the goblins item so its good for builders
torches can increse luck if you care about it but will not remove luck (re logic listend to the community and fixed that complaint to make it better for the comunity) + you can defeat torch god to get the option to autmaticlty convert it for free
the update mostly just repolishes the game and dosnt change much outside a few balence changes or the npc happiness and tbh despite id prefore not haveing the happiness the pylons are good and i dont have much to complain about with the happiness
tell me what did they actually screw up so much that you hate the update for
I have not many problems with 1.4 myself. Just sucks they skipped something people asked for over years now. One thing I wish they added was a postMoonlord hardmode. Not in the sense of a new tier of progression but more in the sense of "everything scales to your tier level" ordeal. The game gets too easy after Moonlord.
Empress of Light, I still haven't beaten as of yet during the day but I think she is a great boss addition to the game. I don't think she is too hard and I only play Master Mode now. Block Swap is definitely an amazing QoL addition as having to destroy something to replace it, especially chests, can be a pain. Ruler is definitely a great QoL that doesn't break the original accessory as it is still fuel for a recipe. Torch God event is definitely easy to do. Small square room with platforms and put all torches in the middle. Run one direction around and you beat it.
If people actually complain about stuff like this then they must be ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ just for the sake of it. NPC hapiness is the one thing I can see worthy of ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ over. The negatives of it should not be there at all. It discourages creative builds with npcs which a lot, including myself, do with their worlds. I like to make a city in the middle of the map with npcs in all the different skyscrapers. This update discourages that with the negative happiness system. The Pylons should be the only positive/negative system for the npcs. All npcs in one place means no Pylon network. Spreading out npcs means that you can have Pylon travel. There is also an inbetween. I can bet once Tmodloader hits 1.4, everyone is gonna jump to those mods first that remove negative npc happiness.
iv seen people calling it an actuall bad update before which was rather stupid i guess enemies could be buffed but i think people seem to rather forget no matter what the game is going to have ultra op end game progression weapons that make the game too easy (zenith in this example) sure you can buff it up but then that just defeats the point of the end game item being so strong
and even if there stronger theres still no real reason to continue playing the game with that op loot sure things are harder to kill but it dosnt change how easy it will be
its an issue that ultimitly cannot be fixed the game is designed around being ultra weak yourself to every enemie you encounter being pretty much 1 shot instead of you being part of the satisfaction the game offers so makeing em stronger is rather pointless and defeats the purpose of the end game items which have little purpose to begin with
also empress of light is such a good boss altho iv not really thought her properly before (i skip over empress and duke to just kill the cultest no point in struggleing with a fight when the next stong gear is easy to get)
The progression in the game could use some more ties but also, optional bosses are nice as well. I couldn't see Empress being a mandatory boss at the stage she is in right now. She definitely feels like more a preMoonlord boss in difficulty. Shoot, even postMoonlord during the day.
