-miner helmet gives you light
-normal torches obviously but they require gel from slimes and wood.
-specific torches like coral torches can be used and don't go out in water
-glowsticks but they can't be picked up but don't get blown out if theres water involved
-potions i.e. shine potions and night vision potions

-light pets exist yes. The 1st couple are the shadow orbs or the crimson hearts you get from the crimson / corrupt. After you go up the list you can find more or craft items to summon light pets. The best by far is probably the will o wisp from wisps in a jar because you can control where they go but overall the ultimate is the true eye of cthulhu.
-using spells or summons sometimes they can light up an area temporarily.
