The point of Tmodloader is that it's...the Terraria-modloader and you need the "mod loader" to load mods.

but if I play tmod I won't get base game achievements right? is it like playing a different game?

yea you dont get the steam achievements, think you get achievements on tmod but its just in game, not on steam
