im curious, whats the one item or stack of items that when sold to an npc gives you the most money

From what I've read, a full stack of Crystal Shards sell for over 1 platinum, and they're essentially infinite in supply if you're in Hardmode.

yeah, no, I am NOT getting a stack of crystals, it is hard enough to fend of the enemies there but getting 20 crystals is near impossible for me to do without dying, much less 999. also I use the xbox 360 version.

So, crystals will give you some platnium, but from what i have found, 999 gold bars give you 1 platnium flat if sold, idk if it works now, just somthing i found a couple months ago

Much better to sell the ore than the bars (I think this applies to all bar/ore types). 1 bar = 12 silver. 4 ore = 1 bar. 1 ore = 4 silver, so 4 ore = 16 silver. You lose 4 silver is you make a bar. Or ~40 gold per 999 stack of bars.
