Can't access all of my dungeon

Are there multiple entrances to dungeons? When I explore using the front door I eventually get led to a dead end far down below. I can see other parts of the dungeon from that dead end, but have no way to access it.

Is it possible to find another entrance by digging down from the surface?

If you have a good pickaxe you can continue digging from the dead point to the zones you see.

Ok so the walls of the dungeon can be destroyed then. My pickaxe is not good enough. It is gold. Which pickaxe can destroy the walls that I may be able to create in the early parts of the game?

You need at least a Nightmare Pickaxe(Demonite) or Deathbringer Pickaxe(Crimtane).
You have to kill Eye of Cthulhu or Brain of Cthulhu a few times to get this ore.

Are you sure you've explored all of the dungeon you can? It's unusual that it'd be cut into two parts, since there is only the one entrance.

I lack one piece of tissue to make the Deathbringer. I guess I will set up an arena tomorrow and fight the brain again. I've tried to kill it a few times already with no luck. Thanks for the info!

Yes, I have explored it in it's entirety from the entrance. It looks like there are one or two blocks that were placed in the spot that I normally would continue through and now make it impossible to continue on. There is still a lot of dungeon to be explored. I dug a shaft down and then followed the walls around for quite a while.

My "backseat moderating" is generally what the actual nods would do if they existed... they would politely tell the offender in case they didn't know that they have committed an offense, explain why what said offender did was wrong, and would then take action if further offense occurs. In fact, this is not backseat moderating at all... this is just common curtesy.
