Map won't open

BTW: I've made another comment like this but I never got an answer so i thought why not i refresh it

I can't get my map to show
I've tried:
.Resetting the controls to default
.Changing the controls
.Going on and off Terraria
.Going to multi and single player

There is also no map settings to the left of my health and hearts my friend has it but not me what do i do plz help!

I'm guessing you've ensured your Terraria is fully updated? The map and minimap were implemented in version 1.2. If you're using an earlier version, you won't have the feature.

Another thing is that I had the minimap working fine when i started playing at the start of the summer sale 2014 but now it's been gone for awhile

The version of the game is in the lower left corner of the screen when you first start up the program.

No it's v1.2.4.1

That's the most recent version. I'm going to assume you've tried pressing Tab to cycle through the minimap styles, or pressing M to bring up the full size map?

I've haven't had it long but I'm made worlds from this current update

Apparently there's a bug that will sometimes cause the map to disable itself during world loading. Have you entered your world and then checked the settings to ensure the map is enabled?

By setting for it to be enabled to you mean the little map logos next to your health cause I don't have them showing.....

Unfortunately, I've never experienced this problem, myself, so I'm only guessing on what it might be; and quickly running out of possible solutions. You may just have to play without the map until you figure it out.

My desktop is old and has barely any memory I can bring the files to my laptop hopefully it will work with the mini map and hopefully all my saved data at the moment will still be there thx for helping me on this to clarify which options still didn't work

Should be under General Settings. If it ain't, I dunno.

It has all of them apart from it my desktop like i said has no memory at all but can run games at a playable pace but I can't play the full game without it being unplayable eventhough i had no lag or issues while having the map on before The game has still said it's better if I'm not able to have the choice to use it as I've read other peoples problems about this and the same has been said there about the game not wanting them to use it so they are actually able to play the game .
