(Demonic) Vampire Knives found on pre-hardmode... 'o.O

Wiki and everywhere else I see, says they're only found on hardmode, but I just found them in the pre-hardmode dungeon, while raiding it for statues and stuff. Am I just insanely lucky? I feel kinda lucky... these knives seem pretty good. xD TBF, I've played for over 250 hours and now I finally get them, so I don't feel it unjust to have found them. Is it normal, though, for pre-hardmode worlds?

Also, wasn't even in one of those special key chests, not even a shadow one... in-fact, I think it might not have even been a gold one. lol Super lucky? xD

Here's a thought.. maybe the game recognises that my character has been through the ringer, so let it be a possible drop?

Guess they never fixed it. Daaamn. Well, I'm keeping them, and don't feel it wrong to have them; I did, after all, find them after many hours.

To clear up any possible confusion for the next smartypants: I had already been on hardmode plenty of times, for quite a while; not that it's in any way what-so-ever pertinent.

TBH, though, as fun as I'm finding them, I still love my flamethrower and Megashark, not to mention my Beam Sword. I've yet to test this in hardmode, but I will at some point. xD Just farming... I want jellyfish statues. (just found 1, but want at least 2)

You say you have a Flamethrower and a Megashark, but you're in pre-hardmode. Those are both Hardmode weapons.

The only reason the wiki says the vampire knives are Hardmode weapons is that they ONLY drop from the Crimson chests, which require a Crimson Key, which requires a Jungle Key (defeat plantera), Crimson Key Mold (random drop in Hardmode worlds, in specific biomes), and Souls (defeating Hardmode bosses). All of which are Hardmode materials. Vampire Knives are the unique weapon of the Crimson Biome chest. Each of the Biome chests has a different weapon inside them, themed to their biome.

Megashark is crafted with Souls of Might, on a Mythril Anvil, which can only be gotten in Hardmode (defeating The Destroyer, a Hardmode boss).

The Flamethrower is crafted with Souls of Fright, on a Mythril Anvil, which can only be gotten in Hardmode (defeating Skeletron Prime, a Hardmode boss).

Sounds like an awful lot of "lucky" occurances in your game, for someone who's supposedly never been to Hardmode (defeated the Wall of Flesh). Or is there something else afoot? Download a mod, perhaps? Or play on a lot of free item servers?

Edit: Just read you also have a Beam Sword. Also a Hardmode weapon. Are you sure you're not confusing HardMODE with HardCORE?

Lol Come on... I use different worlds, ¬_¬ My main town, bases, factories, and farms are all on a pre-hardmode world, and I have a hardmode map specifically for hardmode-related stuff. (as well as other farming-related maps or online-related)

1.) You very heavily implied that you hadn't been in Hardmode.
2.) If you've brought materials from another world, how do we know you didn't just bring a Crimson Key over, too?
3.) Last I heard, you couldn't beat the Twins. How would you get a Temple Key and the Souls of Sight required to craft such a thing without Plantera even being able to spawn and the Twins remaining unbeaten?

Did you EVEN pay attention to the thread? I heavily implied nothing or the sort; if you took from it that I never touched hardmode, then fair enough, but I certainly didn't intend to imply it, nor can I see such implication from my post. I've already stated what happened. I've not twisted the truth in any such way. The only thing I've said that you could have misunderstood, is that I insinuated I had yet to test "this" (the weapon, obviously) in hardmode.

I have yet to even get any of those other keys, except the shadow ones.

I've yet to beat the twins, correct, but that doesn't change the fact that I still found the damn knives and am using them, now.

Once again, if you want, check out my screenshots that hopefully show I have at least two different worlds. Beyond that, this is a giant waste of time and energy, given you're clearly gonna keep at this whole "fishy" business.

Alright, alright. Calm down. I paid attention to the thread, and I said you implied, not that you were implying. No, you didn't intend to imply anything, but you still did, and that made me say something was fishy.

Perhaps you haven't twisted the truth or lied, but I'm still skeptical. Sorry if that offends you or anything, but I'm not gonna stop just because you say "I'm telling the truth!"

Damn straight. The screenshots more backup my "claims" with some ... I think it's called circumstanctial evidence. xD There would be no point in my taking a screenshot of the weapon... y'all know what it looks like, but if that's what it takes, I'll gladly upload one, now. If I were only recording a video of it happening, but I don't have a habit of randomly recording stuff on the off-chance something rare and awesome happens that I would inevitably have to prove happened. Ho hum. Even then the video would prove I got it, but the viewer wouldn't know whether I had a modded game or something (I don't, for what it's worth; it's vanilla, and I won't change that as it would feel "cheaty") so I can't really "win", here.
