Spider Staff or Optic Staff?

I notice that the Optic Staff has higher damage, but at the same time it FEELS like the Spider Staff has higher DPS. Then again.. in a guide for Skeletron Prime, it recommends Optic or Pirate staff. Sooo.. which one is better?! (optic or spider)

i have 2 staff but use qptic more than spider
optic have 2 monsters and more damage

But doesn't the spiders have higher DPS since they attack faster?

The Spider Staff can not only climb background walls, but latch onto enemies if they're airborne, regardless of present walls. The Optic Staff does have higher DPS, but it can sometimes miss its attacks. If you have a lot of Twin minions, the swarm will indeed outdo the Spider Staff since they all fly and have two minions in one.

By "alot", how many do you mean?

Say, having a full loadout of Twins by wearing the Spider Armor for minion count boosts. Since the Twins have piercing attacks, a swarm of them (4 or more) will totally decimate all of Skeletron Prime's parts.

And what about Plantera/Golem? Is the twins loadout good for them?

They work just as good for Plantera and Golem, though for the Golem I tend to use Pygmies because their spears are really darn powerful against his fists.

Ah alright. Well thank you very much. Another question though, is a Rainbow Rod better than Megashark or Legendary Chlorophyte Claymore? And is a Yelets Yo-Yo better than the claymore?

The Rainbow Rod, I have only used as a more practical weapon to use when behind a corner. If you are a mage, it would do better than the Megashark and Claymore. Otherwise, the other two are better depending on your class. The Yelets is much better if you have a Yoyo Bag equipped, but otherwise, I would prefer the Claymore.

The spider staff is only good until you can get the optic staff after that optic staff can carry you all the way to beating martian madness if you know what you're doing.BUT spider staff is really good at jungle or cave exploration so if you have both and need to go in tight underground areas use the spider staff as the tiny twins get stuck alot when there isnt much space to move.
