Recall Potions Useless?

Are recall potions useless since exiting your game and joining back automatically puts you at your spawn point.

With recal potions/Magic Mirror/GPS(IIRC) you don't have to deal with 2-3 minutes of loading screens, it's also faster if you have to get out of a battle without getting hit while going through menus.

Well, if your computer isn't very fast it saves you the trouble of going through a bunch of loading screens but I don't have that issue. The two reasons I'd consider them useful is that if you put them on your hotbar you can use them to escape a dangerous situation if you've got autopause turned off and going to the main menu to quit would get you killed before you could, or if you consider leaving and re-entering the game to get to your spawn point quicker to not be legit as I do. Not that I'm judging anyone who does do it that way of course,

Recall potions are useless and a waste of space once you get a magic mirror and other spawn teleportation items. (I use the cellphone)

Recall potions actually get you back home faster than Magic Mirror and similar items. The difference is a fraction of a second, but it's still something.

The fact they are consumed is much greater than that fraction of a second.

Yeah, I know, I'm just saying that there is a difference. Also, it's not that hard to stockpile large amounts of recall potions, you can get like, 4 of them from each chest on the surfaces.
