Please help with blocks.
Hello, I have recently purchased Terraria and having problems. I want to place wall tiles but they appear as 4x tile blocks on background, how can I place them so they match the size of actual block, and don't over come it 4 times? Is there any way? Thanks in advance!

So, if you place multiple walls of different types next to eachother, theyll come out as single block backgrounds. But thats it.

if you have bricks as a "frame" for a room you can leave out the edges and the "frame" will hide it.

But I don't think a piece of wall is 4x the size of a block?

Well basically, what I want to do is build a candy cane, but to be able to walk through. The head of candy cane is solid blocks but the body I wanted to make out of wall so I can walk through and not jump over it, but when I place candy cane walls they are 4 times the size of normal block soo that kinda ruins it. I just wish you could place wall blocks as 1 tile size, like in Starbound :c

In Terraria every single wall is 4 times the size of a normal block. If you still want to build a candy cane the only solution I find is to only make it out of walls and avoid using blocks, or you could place many blocks to resemble the size of the walls, but that's everything you can do.

If you have access to a mechanic, you can buy actuators and place them on the tiles of the candy cane, then wire them to a button or something that you can click to activate the actuators. Those will make the tiles pass-through-able, or whatever the word is, so you can walk through the entire candy cane (it looks kinda weird when only part of it is actuated into the background).

If you don't have a mechanic, that's about the only solution to this, so you'd need to go kill Skeletron by "cursing" the Old Man in front of the dungeon and defeating the boss that awakens, then traverse the dungeon until you find one.

Oh, thanks for info! I kinda already solved this for my self. Made a mini snow cave to be able to pass through and on top of it I built candy canes and pine trees!! :D It looks epic, thanks to presents I get best stuff from them! Happy new year everyone!!
