Eye of Cthulhu won't spawn after message

So I was hanging out, building a house near sea and I got Eye of Cthulhu message but it didn't spawn, I was waiting half of night and nothing... Is this because I used potion to get back to my base? I never had a problem like that in previous world's so I'm confused

Recall potions should not have an effect on the Eye of Cthulhu spawning naturally. Unless you drink it *after* the purple text, which comes about a minute after the green suspenseful text. If you did that then you would probably outdistance it immediately and forfeit the battle.

Did you ever have the relevant purple initiation text appear onceafter that message? If not then you may want to await the next night. It's also possible that you need to be on the surface to prompt the encounter, but it sounds like you were doing just that and not being underground.

Purple text never shown that night, two nights later (somewhere at 3pm in-game time according to pocket watch) purple text appeared (without green one nor summoning item) so I don't know... Is it possible that it just got super laged?

Some times this happens if u ever see text just chill outside sometimes this still happens though

the message shows up and then half way thru the night it shows up with a message if you teleport shortly after the message but just after it spawned then it will try to go to you. if there is a few seconds of travel time to where it hits an unload wall then it will be gone.
