Underground mob farm help

I recently finished an underground mob farm its 170 L by 99 x its fully within the cavern layer I have a water candle up and even made it a graveyard biome. But practically no mobs are spawning. It spawned in an decent amount before i walled of the bottom half, but those spawns were only in the bottom half. any ideas for help?

Use lava to fill the bottom? It will force spawns to occur on the upper part (main bridge) of the farm. If you follow classical design of the farm with two long horizontal surfaces.

Enemies will always try to spawn off screen, so if there are lots of caves close by, and/or the bottom half of the farm is off screen, then the majority of enemies will be down there.

yall are using farms? ive just been flying around in the caverns waiting around for rare enemies to spawn so then i can kill it and hope for good loot (also im not like forcing any of yall to do the same thing im just saying ive just been flying around in the caverns)

Well, you see, this game is a sandbox. It is meant to build things. And what things are the most interesting to build? The functional ones, right?

So, we build farms not to cheese, but to build interesting functional things. And also it's kind of strange to build them in Journey mode. So I always build them in a normal mode where it is much harder (and thus much more balanced) to do.
