this stupid merchant after 24 hours irl is refusing to sell the damn thing

any tips to get him to sell the item? im tired and this is getting absolutely stupid

Kill him and shimmer his hat. Also, if you kill him early enough, he does have a chance to respawn in the same day, which also resets his inventory to new stuff.

you dont gotta get it from the merchant im pretty sure you can get it from those pre-hardmode lizard enemies ( i forgot the name of them ) cuz i dont remember buying it from the merchant but got it from an enemy
