Starfury or Terragrim in 1.4.4?

Just came back to the game after a 3yr hiatus and have been playing a drunk world in expert mode. Still early on have only beaten the eye so far and have been mostly exploring, building arenas, a hellavator, sky railways ect.

Found starfury and have used some enchanted sword seeds to get both the enchanted sword and terragrim,got lucky and found it on 8th seed. I heard those last two have been nerfed and starfury does have a higher base damage at 25. This coupled with the fact that any weapon can autoswing makes me wonder if starfury is the better choice between those 3 at my stage in the game. I'm still getting back into the hang of things any input is appreciated. I

Whatever is comfortable to use. Personally, I'm a Starfury enjoyer.

You could use both. The Terragrim can hit a target 12 times per second according to the wiki, so the DPS will be much higher, but utility will be limited by its short range.

Yeah mostly been using starfury its so useful you can even use it to scout for ores underground to a limited extant. It definitely seems superior to the enchanted sword will just stick with it and keep terragrim on my belt too to see if it comes in handy. Ty for the info

If i were you i would use starfury to get blade of grass but it's up to you. But yeah, starfury is really good for eye of cthulhu.

For now I'd say use Starfury , but go farm a Blade of grass from the jungle to kill eater of worlds / brain of cthulu right away , then use your new pickaxe from the boss to mine hell stone and get an early Volcano and Molten armor and you will be set until hardmode.

Terragrim is decent in normal but in expert the boss damage will kill you too quickly when you are forced to be so close just to do damage , you might be able to use it to kill Eater of worlds or brain of cthulu but you will need a blade of grass soon to make a Nights Edge anyways.

Plus the Blade of Grass is fast attacking , has good range and fires a projectile that curves in a circle, extending it's range so you could just use it and be better off than with the Terragrim.

Cool thanks for the tips Radiowave been so long since I played still trying to remember everything there is so much to this game haha. I just farmed up some demons for a demon scythe book and might get a goblin invasion going so I can get access to spiky balls for EoW if all else fails and will grab a blade of grass too after that.

I plan to take out both bosses in this drunk world might as well I figure. My guy is fairly stacked atm full platnium armor, fledgling wings, hermes boots, and a web slinger hook hopefully I don't die too much. Dunno what possessed me to start in a expert mode world while being so rusty.

Awesome, hope you have a good time , yeah if you haven't played in awhile there are probably a bunch of interesting things you can try , summons have gotten a lot better over the years too.

Thanks again man I can already tell a ton is different since 2021 plus I mostly played this on PS4 in the past so being on PC is new to me. Just noticed this drunk world seed's surface level is 650' ft above sea level so I've embarked on the soul crushing quest of bombing out a bunch of hellevators with sticky bombs. Glad to be back in the game lol 2 down 4 to go (insert withered wojak face here).
