How to find the Mystic Frog

Am I the only one in the world who have this problem? I spent literally a month in a jungle trying to find the dam frog and I couldnt. Is there any other way? Can it be spawned by the frog statue? Or any tips? This is the last NPC I need to gather, I literally have all the other. Android 1.4.4.9.5 (shouldnt make any difference as the PC and Android versions are the same)

They spawn very rarely at the jungle, unsure if night or day has any relevance though…

The Mystic Frog is a Critter that spawns in the Jungle with a 3.33% (1/30) chance to spawn in place of a regular Frog. It appears as an orange and pink frog with a large pink sunhat and glows a faint light in the dark.

When Purification Powder is used on it, it turns into the Mystic Slime, a Town NPC, similarly to how the Tortured Soul transforms into the Tax Collector.

The Mystic Frog is one of the few creatures detected by the Lifeform Analyzer.
Attempting to catch the critter with any kind of net will cause it to teleport nearby.
The spawn chance of a Mystic Frog increases during a Blood Moon.
The chance of finding a Mystic Frog changed from 2% to 3.33% as of the 1.4.4.8 update.

Build a functioning village first, which will eliminate most monster spawns, so the only things that can spawn are friendly critters, and the mystic frog will be one of them.
