How travel fast to another far away spot?

Are pylons are the only way to travel/swap fast to another place e.g. from base to ocean? Back at home spawnpoint i can do with a mirror.

setting up your pylon network helps getting to biomes you need. If not that you could put in the time to setup a railcart system, or a sky bridge to run along.

If you're willing to, you can create a teleport system. Everything you need to do so, the mechanic has.

Buy some teleporters, make the grand design and the rest will be a breeze. The pylon system will always be more superior than any alternative, but if you'd like to teleport to a place without villagers, make some cool looking doors that actually function, or you've already used up your pylons it's viable.

If you're a psychopath and want to clear your Bestiary for the Universal Pylon, that thing helps a bunch as well.

[Edit: Another thing cause I post without thinking. The conch ideas are not terrible either, but for your convenience what you want is the shell phone. It will allow you to teleport to The Underworld, The Ocean, World Spawn, and your Spawn point in one item.]
