Each have their own specific storage tied to your character instead of the world. So drop the items in it, go to where you want to place your chest, place your chest, open up your personal storage of choice and move the items over.
let me specify - i was thinking of an easier method earlier on in the game. i did use my money trough, and i normally do use the safe, defender's forge and void vault and theyre certainly helpful. but i dont have access to them yet since this is a fresh world and i havent fought skeletron yet. otherwise yeah great idea
Well, if there was an easier way to fill up a chest and move it - it would function just like the personal storage with the exception that it would still be tied to the world I suppose. So it should be doable at least.
I haven't checked out Calamity or Thorium lately, but maybe there's something like that in those.
im talking about moving existing chests like in a storage room. would be more intuitive and could be done earlier on instead of requiring you to beat skeletron before you can rearrange your armory. or i guess its my fault for not coming up with a blueprint for how i want the place to look before setting down chests and filling them and kinda just winging it
