things in terraria that really gets to you

i know its a fantasy sandbox sorta game, but little things that get you frustrated, ill start with an example:
selling platinium bars for gold coins, and gold bars for silver (i mean they probably use the things to make the gold and platium coins, they should at least give you 1 coin since the npcs put in the labor to make the coins).
meteroite sets you on fire but not mobs (what do they have some magical/physical shell that protects them from most things that would kill you)
feel free to add your own
edit: im adding more as i go along and hear these, although if the list gets too long i might just put them in the comments instead.
snowball cannons inflict alot of damage with snowballs for ammunition (im gussing the cannon is made out of palladium or some higher tier metal, so residue goes into the snowball to give it more damage)
grenade launcher grenades do not destroy blocks yet damage you, but regular grenades, bombs and dynamite damage you and destroy blocks (goes back to the whole weapon made with high tier metal that changes its attributes.)
chlorophyte ores are found in the lower bottom of the underground jungle yet glow because of sunlight (how does sunlight even get down there in the first place)?
you cant use regeneration items on npcs (thats just bs, maybe you really like jack, paul, or the truffle and want to save them from dying)
wire can only be seen with a wrench, even if its in the open air like above land (words cannot explain this)
(from a commentor) npcs know whats in your pocket and take over your house. also they know what time of day it is even if its in an underground house
lihzard people are smart enough to make a golem, an alter to summon him, and powercells, but still attack mainly by melee. that and revert back to walking on all fours if you damage them enough
last one before i start posting them in the comments for this list is too long now
*ahem* you can cut down trees with an axe and get acorns, but if you have a blowpipe with you, they suddenly get converted to ammo. (and they shrink in size too)

but you cant destroy the blocks underneath the ones that are already spawned..*grinding teeth intensifies.*

Unless it's on sand. I destroyed a sand block that was at the bottom of sand blocks that were stacked and it destroyed the demon alter.

another far away land, he may be a nomad. im sure he can handle himself seeing as he has all this stuff to sell like ammo boxes and things.

He travels from starbound to edge of space, once he does that he goes to Minecraft, and then he goes back into Terraria. This is why he is rare, and he could stay at each location for any amount of time.

they do if you fire them/ dedonate them close enough, such as a grenade launcher, if you get near the explosive before it explodes, yet it doesnt break the blocks underneath while a grenade thrown/ bombs and dynamite do

I think it was Rocket IV that I was using, I remember shooting them directly at the ground beneath me and I didn't take any damage.

oh okay, yet more bs, although the 4 could mean that they are more modified rockets that give enemies damage but not you, you never know.

Wouldn't it be fun to dig a hellevator, use gravitation potion and flip a switch and have a bunch of lava on the surface?
