Amongst the bows, the Chlorophyte Shotbow, Hallowed Repeater, Tsunami (Drop from Duke Fishron), and the Pulse Bow (Purchased from the Travelling Merchant, should it show up in his inventory) are all extremely valuable, with the latter two being the most powerful weapons that use arrows in the entire game.
Rocketry can be a bit more complicated, however. The Grenade Launcher (You've beaten Plantera, so you should have it) does more damage than the Rocket Launcher (a drop from yet another Hardmode Dungeon mob, the Skeleton Commando), but it fires in an arc. There's also the utterly invaluable Snowman Cannon, but like the Chain Gun before it, it must be obtained during a Frost Moon.
I also rather like using the Elf Melter, but like the Chain Gun, it must be obtained during the Frost Moon. However, it uses Gel for ammunition, so it can be well worth it, and it is crazy useful against the various slimes and the Hallow's Gastropods.
I really need to figure out what to do with my time besides just surfing these forums.
also, no your fine, spending time to help people is not time wasted. also the game gets a little boring after a while, if you want i can invt you to my server later
Maybe tomorrow. It's already about midnight here.
It would be interesting to see what two people in Spectre Armor could do when one has the Mask on and the other has the Hood, no?
also i think one would heal em both, the lowest going first, while the other one just goes on his trip firing projectiles
I more meant "What would all those little orbs look like?" than what the mechanical effect would be. You're right, though.
I found Crystal Bullets go very well with the Tactical Shotgun, as it results in a large number of shards. They are also my goto ammo due to being so easy to make.
When you use the Pulse Bow make sure you use Venom Arrows as the Pulse Bow removes all effects besides damage.
For rockets you should be aware of the fact that MK II and IV rockets can break blocks, while MK I and III can't. Thus MK III should be your normally used ammo type. You can only buy them at night which isn't that bad. MK IV rockets do have a use as a mining tool. However they are very hard to get since they only appear during a Solar Eclipse which are rare and often leave you busy dealing with the event itself.
The Stynger is a rocket type weapon that you might find useful as it doesn't damage you and does tons of splash damage. You get it from the Golem and ammo appears in the Witch Doctor or Arms Dealer shops when you have the weapon on you.
A useful item might be a Sniper Scope made from a Rifle Scope (a rare drop from Skeleton Snipers) and Destroyer Emblem. It out performs the Destroyer Emblem (for ranged weapons only of course) and gives you the Rifle Scope's zoom feature.
While the Megashark is a good place to start I find it quickly gets outclassed by all the other options you have.
mask: megashark
headgear: Tsunami.
One could argue that the Pulse Bow is better than the Tsunami, due to higher base damage and auto-fire. And general consensus is that the Megashark is outperformed by almost all the guns added in 1.2 in some way, and is outclassed in every way conceivable- sans accuracy- by the Chain Gun.
I tend to browse the forums while using my hald built truffle worm farm to collect insane numbers of truffle worms.
