Need Some Ideas on Underwater Lighting
I have an underwater world but it's difficult lighting up an ocean full of sharks since almost no torches will work underwater. All I've found that works decently are gemspark blocks. Any ideas?

If you get the green cursed souls things, cursed torches and campfires can be placed underwater

living flame blocks can also be placed underwater, I believe

Those too. Ichor or cursed, depending on if your world has corruption or crimson.

If you happen to fish alot, jellyfish jars could also work underwater despite sounding silly in itself.

I wonder, do firefly bottles work under water too?

If sharks are a problem, I would suggest getting better gear before anything. Otherwise, glowsticks work fine.

Glowsticks do not work just fine. They never stay where you put them, and they don't provide much light. Not even the sticky ones. You throw them, and they stick for a few minutes, and then they stop staying and can get picked up again as soon as you walk past them.

Glowsticks are absolutely fine as a light source, they can be spammed to accommodate for any light they lack. If you need a permanent light source however, I would use something else. The original post didn't clarify if the light needed to be permanent or just to temporarily light up the ocean. Regardless, I am wondering why this person wants to light up their ocean. Context is essential.

There was context. He specified that he has an underwater world.

There really seems to be a literacy problem amongst this fandom....

Good enough. I am curious though, if the whole map is underwater, why is he/she at the ocean? Sharks only spawn within 250 blocks of the edge of the world. If sharks are a problem, I would suggest moving away from the ocean. The lighting issue has already been solved by the great minds residing in the forums, lol.

I'm pretty sure sharks can spawn anywhere that registers as an ocean biome, though, right?

Hmmmm... Nope, you were right about the 250 blocks thing. Unless there is a shark statue
