Condensed artificial biomes as housing?
Greetings,

Is it possible to create a condensed, enclosed biome for the purposes of it acting as a house for designated npcs?
For example, making a large room from mud with planted mushroom seeds. maybe 15x15 tiles, with layers every 2 tiles to help fulfil the required surface area of at least 100 tiles of mud covered in mushroom grass.
I have not tried this, so my question is, will it still register as a mushroom biome (surface)?
If so, if I add a door, chair, table, and light source to this room, will it register as a valid house for the truffle to move in?
Would the same method work when using jungle seeds for a surface house biome for the witch doctor?
I am intrested in doing this so that all the npcs sell all their stuff, without having them live far off from my main housing area.

Another thing I am worried about is if the new small biomes will spawn their corresponding biome enemies. I do not want jungle mobs spawning in my base in the middle of the map :|

Has anyone tried this? Any thoughts? Any insight on this is appreciated!
Cheers~

That should work. So long as you have enough blocks of a given type, you can create its biome. According to the wiki you need 100 tiles for a mushroom biome and 80 for a jungle. If you use only the bare minimum, then the biome will be very localized, but I'm guessing that's what you want. Also, you can use Lizahrd bricks instead of jungle grass for the witch doctor if you like.

As for biome specific enemies: while it is true that even a tiny biome can spawn its specific enemies, your NPCs should already be blocking all enemy spawns, so it won't matter. Also, enemies can't spawn in front of player placed walls (sort of, long story short, put up a roof for best results, but that's something you already have to do for your house).

P.S. You can always summon them to a specific biome using a king/queen statue if you don't need to constantly make biome-specific purchases.

Makes sense, I will try it in a bit.
I just wanted to ask around, so that I wouldnt waste alot of time and resources
While its true the biome specific purchases are kinda a one time thing, I just wanna do it so that everything feels complete :P
