tbh you may have to make a new world, check both sides of your world to make sure before you change worlds

If for whatever reason you did not get a surface hallow, you can buy seeds from the dryad.

This is one case where you should always remember her. First thing I advise anyone to do as soon as you enter hard mode, is to get a ton of hallowed seeds from the Dryad.

Hallow competes directly against crimson/corruption (they won't spread thru each other) and does not prevent npc spawns. Therefore, if your town is already surrounded by hallow, it can't be corrupted. So first thing one does entering hard mode is to plant hallowed seeds around their base (and any other npc housing or biomes), so that the hallow overtakes it before crimson or corruption can. This eliminates the pressure of trying to kill a mechanical boss asap, just to get a cletemator from the steampunker in order to protect base.

If you want to spread hallow even faster, (prior to getting a cletemator) then you can mix the seeds with water and pixie dust to make holy water. If the immediate line of corruption that appears upon entering hard mode, just so happen to hit your town or base, then this is the best way to undo the damage prior to cletemator.

Sounds like you have many many replaythrus to go. Hardly anyone just plays thru once and calls game beat. Most of us have played thru dozens of times, as different character/class types, different themes and weapon loadouts, sometimes with others, sometimes solo and even with different building themes to match character themes.

No two playthrus are ever the exact same. I have had some where the Dryad is hardly used (hallow came in right on town), but I have also had times where the corruption came in right on my base, had my jungle cut into 2 due to the corruption coming down right thru the center of it, or had my base wrecked by unforseen circumstances (this one happened a lot more back in day when clown bombs destroyed bricks). Back in the day I once had a fort I was in the middle of constructing get hit with a meteorite (that one was funny as hell as I think back on it).

I have played thru as sword specific melee, flail and thrown focused melee, a spear and javelin focused Roman. all the dungeon defender set ups, a tech base character (phaseblade, lasers, and rockets), summoners, mages, a druid (mixed summon and magic, but only animal summons and water/plant/earth/ wind spells), gun specific ranged, bow specific ranged, and even a ninja (went from certain specific melees like katana, chain knife and claws, into more of a blowdart specialist).

I have done a giant living tree as a base, a spaceship, castles, towers, a western town on the edge of dessert, coastal villages, a mini Rome (with a recreation of collesium as my arena), tree top ninja villages, magic floating castles (built on sky island) with huge libraries, and anything that seemed like it would be different than previous playthrus.

The only real limit is one's imagination, and eventually certain things will happen when you do that many playthru's with so many different aspects to them.
