Calamity vs Thorium?

What MOD should my friend and i play?
Whats the main difference?
Both looks pretty the same to me what i see in the internet.

thorium is more like a rpg feel to it you have classes and stuff like that but looking for a hard and long game that challenges you try calamity

Calamity is a challenge mod intended to make the entire game harder from start to finish. Do you think you'll find fighting the mechanical bosses with pre-hardmode gear a fun challenge? Do you want every boss to feel like the Empress of Light? Are you bored with how easy the vanilla game is? Then you'll like Calamity.

Thorium is a much more relaxed content expansion that focuses less on overhauling the progression experience and more on adding to it. If you like the way the vanilla game plays, you'll probably prefer Thorium.

mhhh and when we are noobs and start from the scratch and jsut read in the forums u have to paly one of this mods to make terraria good? xD

You should probably play the vanilla game first, just to get a feel for it. If you don't like it then no content mod will save it for you. Asking for help is one thing, but blindly taking the opinions of others is another, much less good thing.

I say Thorium, I'm not a fan of Calamity.

Play vanilla first , then play calamity ,(magic storage mod goes well with everything) Calamity adds new areas and new bosses , new weapons and it's easier to get into than Thorium for a new player.

Honestly the base game has enough content to keep you busy for 40-60 hours by itself , most likely you will give up before even beating the first boss or second boss , I'm not saying that to look down on you but statistically only 53% of players actually have the achievement for beating the first boss and it drops from there , around 45 for the second , 35 for the third , 30% of people fail to even build a house.

So yeah , if you play vanilla and enjoy it I would say go crazy and mod a bunch , but if you spend a bunch of time modding and then stop playing after 3 hours it would be a huge waste of your time.

im not sure where this statistic come from, normaly i play seriouis..maybe casue i have much games bought in sale and havent play it yet just startet it for 5 min or something...but i actually killed cuthulu eye 2 times and today i will try slime king...

Nvm...my friend and i start with thorium and after we say thats not challenging enough we go on for Calamity. THx to every one.

calamity. calamity has top tier music, top tier boss design, and completely overhauls the base game. eye of cthulhu too easy? now it's harder. you want to fight even more worm bosses? astrum deus, storm weaver, and the devourer of gods now exist. oh did i hear you want new biomes? the sunken sea, sulphurous sea, the abyss, and the brimstone crag also exist now. but don't forget to try both mods. if you like calamity more, then do that. if you like thorium mod more, then do that. and if you like them both, why not just use both?
