The *only* reason I would want to take Hardcore out of the vanilla game would be because of the divisions it creates. It makes people hate each other when Terraria's only purpose should be to let people have fun in any way they want.
Hardcore difficulty setting should be something you unlock when you beat the game with Mediumcore, which in turn should be unlocked when you beat the game in Softcore. So that everyone needs to play Softcore once and those who like Hardcore can still have that but they can't complain about new players playing Hardcore right away.

I have nothing against Hardcore Just against some of the Players of Hardcore
Unlocking Mediumcore and Hardcore would be a much better idea, then, IMO. It puts us all on the same level for atleast one playthrough.
