Also in Journey mode you can stop your in-game time. This will stop any events from occuring completely. But you can not convert normal world and normal player to thier journey modes without using 3rd party tools. I advise you to start a new playthrough (world and player) using Journey mode.
Typically you need to find 100 of the items before you can duplicate and by that point it's usually more than you will ever need for things like metal bars so duplicating doesn't change much.
Don't get me wrong , It's cheaty but if you just use it for building materials it's fine , considering there are already world maps you can download off the workshop that have every single item in chests , having to actually find 100 items to research in journey mode is more of a challenge.
You can also turn up the difficulty and the spawns in journey mode so it is as easy or hard as you want it to be , best way to play the game IMO.
Nonetheless there is nothing wrong with playing journey mode like mentioned - and then you can set rules for yourself too. As long as you're having fun.
I repeat - some want a challange. They don't play in Journey mode. This game is also a survival game. Some other just like to build. For them there is a Journey mode. This game is also a sandbox.
If you are able to see only a survival game then you have missed 50% of this game I am afraid.
Welcome to the club, the ones like the pirates aren't bad since 1 wall blocks off everything but the existence of enemies that can go through walls makes doing anything a massive annoyance
Don't consume any hearts until you built all the houses you would like, all shafts and all the bases and railways
Collect 15 hearts and consume them all at once , when you are ready to move forward
Don't break any altars at all (you can fish the 6 hardmore ores)
I'm stuck on a pre-Labor of Love update, but to mitigate the chances of having random events thrown at you be sure to look into event-and-boss summoning items. I do the same and get much more time to relax without them randomly spawning.
