Can I escape the EoW fight with a magic mirror after breaking a third shadow orb?

I'm pretty sure I can, but I wanted to make sure. I've already defeated him and have/am farming him in my arena. Since I want to get more shadow orb loot (Mostly going for a vilethorn) I will end up spawning the EoW by destroying my third shadow orb, and I do not want to fight him underground. So, is it possible to use the magic mirror and teleport home out of the corruption, and not have to fight him? The wiki says he despawns when you get out of the corruption, but again, I want to make sure.

Yep. The same is true for most every boss in the game. The only, and I do mean only, exception is the Destroyer, the Eater of World's hardmode counterpart. It'll follow you across the world if it has to, but it's gonna try it's absolute hardest to kill you.

Oh and for any people viewing this in the future, I just did it myself, he was gone. (I even found some demonite, shadow scales, and money in an area that made it look like he actually died, idk what that was all about tho)

It's a bug (no pun intended), just kinda happens sometimes even when though it shouldn't.

Naw, it was about the same amount of loot as if I killed 2,3 segments or something. Plus, I do things legit, even if it did drop the loot every time, I wouldn't farm him like that.

I meant from the Shadow Orbs, though. Maybe I should've been clearer.
