Better mining

Is there any way for a Player with early-game eq to mine ores more efficiently? I want to get thungsten/platinium armor fast and without grinding ores in mines.

Get a food buff, mining potion, spelunker potion, reforge your pickaxe to the “light” modifier, get the ancient chisel, and get the mining armor.

Other than that, just dig lower and you’ll see more platinum and tungsten. Also keep all silt/fossils/slush you come across.

Scarab bombs can also make going lower or just going in any direction underground much more efficient.

Some iron for 15% fishing pole.
Some worms + some stars for 35% bait.
Body of water (200 tiles total).
A toilet to sit on.
Few sunflowers + maybe some summons to keep you focused on fishing, not on enemies.
And you're ready to pull crates 24/7 - which, among other things, contain ore (and more bait).

Yes you can skip ore tiers but your defenses will be lower and you might die while trying to find the higher tier ore in the deeper layers while not having any armor.

Like Хихичпоккер mentioned fishing can get you ore and is safer but it's more random.

If you look here https://terraria.wiki.gg/wiki/Ores#Pre-Hardmode at the ore tiers you can see what level of pickax they require , so for instance you want gold/platinum but don't want to mine copper , iron or silver Tiers, you can just skip to gold/platinum tier.

Then you can make a gold/platinum pickax, armor and weapon and then go and try getting some crimtane or demonite ore but you will most likely need to kill bosses to get it, a very small amount does spawn as ore you can mine but it's not worth the effort of looking for it, just kill the bosses instead.

Eye of Cthulhu drops some corrupted/crimson ore, by the way.
An item to summon him can be crafted at altars - these do spawn outside of evil biomes occasionally.
While it alone won't provide you armor (boss parts are needed for it), the weapons and tools made with it can carry you on Normal just fine. Or net you some gold for Minishark :) Which is grrrrrrrreat on any difficulty pre-Hardmode! :)

Best thing to do would be to get the mining gear and put it in your second or third armor set.
