I love the building aspect of the game. When bored i'll just build a new house or an NPC Hotel, or build a cool looking shaft right down to the underworld. I actually like the building side more than the combat side.
That's why it's called a "survival crafting" game, like pretty much any other game of the genre
how are the biomes similar? i don't recall a pyramid inside the jungle, i don't recall a temple in the ice caverns, and i didn't fight any demons in the underground desert (among several exemples). So no, each biome have their own identity, their own structures, their own enemies, their own unique loot (even if some is shared between different biomes), ...
as for enemies, they are supposed to be obstacles to defeat. So of course they are going to be a threat to you. They aren't there to offer you a cup of tea. This is pretty much the same in any game with enemies: they are here to challenge the player. Especially for a survival game, they are always designed to be a bit unpredictable (like not knowing when and where they spawn). This isn't a zelda game where you ca get a cinematic on every enemy, or can lock on on the enemies.
well, pure summoner class was always considered the hardest to start with (assuming no help). It is kinda similar with pure mage class too.
As many RPG, warrior players that rely on being very close combat require enough defence. The same applies here, although you shouldn't rely on purely defence, you are still very likely to make an effort on dodging attacks while chipping the HP.
while it is true if you plan to collect most / all items, some repetitive grinding will be necessary, it isn't required to go overboard justto beat the game. However, as you progress, the challenge is getting a bit harder. While you improve your equipment, you will face stronger bosses, which will then unlock stronger equipment (and / or new materials / new progression) that might help you for the next boss. And so on. It is also up to you to determine your playstyle, and see if you come up with more ways of playing (like class playthrough, playing with mods, exploiting journey mode, playing master mode, using secret seeds, ...) There is definitely enough content to keep you busy, both casual players and hardcore players.
well, world gen is technically randomised. Sometimes you get lucky, sometimes you don't. It is up to you to adapt your gameplay to the situation. Is there corruption close to the spawn? Do you go the opposite way? Do you rush through the corruption while trying to avoid fighting as much as possible (to avoid losing too much time)?
After you beat WoF, the world change a lot, spawning 2 new evil biomes. Also biome spreading is much more important. It might be better to take precautions while still in pre-HM, by containing important areas, and preparing the future spread.
meteor armor also exist for mages. As for other classes, they all get 1-2 sets in pre-HM that help the class a bit. Of course it's not as strong as the HM equipment, but for pre-HM, it's decent. The goal isn't to be OP at pre-HM. You have to keep improving your equipment.
Also, you only lose your inventory items if you play in "mediumcore", which is usually not the 1st choice for new players (except those who had lot of experience with others similar games, and are feeling confortable).
The only thing this game IS indubitably bad at is signaling about progression opportunities to player.
The rest varies from mildly decent to indubitably awesome.
If I'm bored trying to trivialize hardmode master mode, I can always return to normal world just to vent off some steam.
If I'm bored of venting, I can return to my #1 guilty pleasure: GOLF.
If (IF) even golf won't do anymore, there are gamechanging seeds and mods. Enough for now - and there were more gamechangers teased for 1.4.5 .
And there's more...
P. S.
>how am i supposed to get better summoner items without finch staff?
Ever heared of Abigail's Flower, best and most accessible pre hardmode summoning item?
ill say this. the sword reworks really helped and i really makes me feel stupid for not taking that into consideration.
yeah i havent touched the games in months now because of it, im not even hating im just saying what i think of the game. its good, that i wont dismiss but is it a masterpiece? absolutely not.
and this might sound other worldly and its probably foreign to your soft brain but,
people. have. opinions.
whether or not mine was an utter sh|t take and would get me canceled if i dared to post it on YouTube i don't care, fact is that you read what i typed, i feel great just knowing that you fr cared enough to even reply to it.
from what ive seen the terraria community can get pretty toxic so forgive me for trying to be mature about my opinions, and for the last time. these were problems i had with the game even when i enjoyed it. not to mention i dont want people to counter my opinions, thats the point of an opinion its YOUR view on something, its like saying "i hate murderers" and people arguing that they're the greatest man to walk on earth and YOUR the bad person here, your trying to prove an opinion wrong when that is literally impossible since they're just opinions, thats like basic social skills. i just wanted to see if anybody else was experiencing these issues like i was to see if my opinion was shared, i can easily sit with the fact that my opinion is garbage but it cant just be changed like that, this isn't an argument bro its just opinions.
